General Motors is betraying workers by closing its Oshawa plant
April 7, 2019
GM is closing its plant in Oshawa, Ontario, after 100 years. This is devastating news for the families of the 2,500 workers (Unifor Local 222) and for the thousands of other families and businesses who depend on the plant. By closing its Oshawa plant, GM is also showing contempt for every Canadian whose taxes bailed out the company in 2009 with the billions of dollars. GM can’t be allowed to cut and run, leaving thousands of workers and their families out in the cold. Add your voice to demand that General Motors allocate new product to the Oshawa plant and keep vital auto manufacturing jobs in Canada.
