The Canadian Labour Congress (CLC) is seeking a Regional Administrative Assistant (Grade 2) within our Prairie Region.
This position is based at our regional office in Regina, Saskatchewan. Full-time presence in the office is expected, with some remote work permitted from time to time as per the collective agreement.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Produce correspondence and other documents;
- Draft routine correspondence and reply to email enquiries;
- Format documents, manipulate charts and graphs;
- Edit and proofread documents including review for grammar and spelling;
- Arrange for translations as needed, taking into account priorities and deadlines;
- Track itineraries of senior staff and make travel arrangements as needed;
- Maintain files within parameters of the records management system;
- Post Internet materials;
- Operate office equipment, provide routine maintenance or calls for service;
- Check accuracy of invoices and issue cheques for payment;
- Administer revolving account, action plan accounts and project plan accounts under the general direction of the Regional Director;
- Prepare and forward reconciliation statements to Headquarters;
- Review and verify labour council audit reports and forward to Headquarters;
- Check accuracy of expense claims;
- Provide administrative support to regional educational school; and
- Perform convention-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in administration combined with two to three years’ experience. Equivalencies will be considered;
- Knowledge of basic accounting procedures considered an asset ;
- Proficiency with MS Office suite, databases, etc.;
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team as well as independently;
- Professional written and verbal communication skills;
- Fluency in both official languages is an asset.
The salary range for this position is $66,979.71 – $70,291.74, plus benefits under the COPE 225 collective agreement. This includes a four (4) day work week (30 hours), generous health, vision, and dental benefits, group life insurance and LTD coverage, pension, as well as fitness allowance, free parking, and other staff perks.
