Justice for First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples is long overdue
The discovery of the remains of so many children in mass and unmarked burial sites at former residential schools has reminded us all of the damage wrought by colonization and systemic racism, as do persistent drinking water advisories, missing and murdered Indigenous women, girls and two-spirit people, and the over-representation of Indigenous children in the child welfare system.
It’s time for everyone in Canada to take an active role in reconciliation. Let the Prime Minister know that you want to see real commitments and concrete action for justice for Indigenous peoples and communities.
