Providing income support for workers

Canada’s unions are calling on the federal government and its provincial and territorial counterparts to provide immediate income support to workers in self-isolation, quarantine or who are addressing child care needs.

Throughout this pandemic, Canada’s unions have pushed for income supports for workers who lost their jobs due to COVID-19 as well as paid sick leave for those forced to self-isolate. The federal government has been responsive to calls for support and has continued to modify programs as the crisis goes on.
