Multi-Year Accessibility Plan (2025–2030)

Statement of Commitment

The Canadian Labour Congress (CLC) is committed to fostering an inclusive and accessible environment that respects the dignity and independence of persons with disabilities.

The CLC is dedicated to meeting the requirements of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and the Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation (IASR), and to identifying, preventing, and removing accessibility barriers in a timely manner.

Information and Communications

The CLC is committed to making its digital content and communications accessible.

Planned actions include:

  • Maintaining a public accessibility statement for canadianlabour.ca,
  • Designing and updating web content with WCAG 2.1 Level AA principles in mind,
  • Providing accessible formats and communication supports upon request, and
  • Considering accessibility when selecting third-party digital platforms and tools.

The CLC recognizes that some legacy content may not meet current accessibility standards and will address barriers where feasible.

Employment

The CLC is committed to fair and accessible employment practices.

This includes:

  • Providing workplace accommodations for employees with disabilities upon request,
  • Considering accessibility needs throughout the employment lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, and performance management, and
  • Supporting individualized accommodation plans where required.

Employment-related accessibility practices are reviewed periodically to ensure alignment with legislative requirements.

Training

The CLC provides accessibility-related training to staff as appropriate to their roles.

Training includes:

  • Awareness of AODA requirements,
  • Guidance on accessible communications and digital content, and
  • Training for staff involved in content creation, publishing, or public communications.

Training is provided to new staff and refreshed as necessary.
