The Issues and You: Who’s cashing in on the housing crisis 

In this webinar, the CLC’s own Lisa Freeman, Senior Researcher, will be speaking with two housing experts and advocates about the financialization of housing – how corporate landlords are changing the housing market, affecting tenants, and what it means for working people. This webinar will be delivered in English, with simultaneous interpretation in French.

NEW Workshop: Member Mapping 

When: Thursday, April 23, 2026 
Where: Guelph, ON 
Delivered in English only

In this workshop you will learn and practice techniques for mapping your union and workplace and explore how to integrate member maps into strategic planning or organizing campaigns.  
Drawing on Kevin Millsip’s “Go, Listen, Build” theory for member organizing, in order to “Go” to workers, we must first know who they are, where they work, and what they care about.  
Participants will leave the workshop with a basic map of their membership and strategies on how to integrate this map into their union’s workplan and strategies. 

CLC/SFL Spring School 2026

Sunday, April 26 to Thursday, April 30, 2026
Labour education builds solidarity and knowledge. It teaches the skills unions need to represent their members and defend their rights using proven methods that allow adults of all backgrounds to learn. If your union wants to train the next generation of local activists or expand the skills that today’s leaders and activists already have, the CLC/SFL Spring School is here to help your union succeed.

The Issues and You: Addressing the Housing Crisis

In this webinar, we will be talking to Lisa Freeman, Senior Researcher with the CLC’s Social and Economic Policy Department, and Michèle Biss, Executive Director of the National Right to Housing Network. We’ll be talking about the ways that the federal government is addressing the housing crisis, with a focus on Build Canada Homes and the National Housing Strategy.  This webinar will be delivered in English, with simultaneous interpretation in French available.

Labour Council Online Financial Reporting System Training

This online self-guided learning workshop teaches Labour Council Secretary-Treasurers how to use the Labour Council Online Financial Reporting System (LC-OFRS) to file their mandatory financial reports.

2026 AFL/CLC Winter School

Join us for a week of skills development and community building for union members!
The AFL/CLC Winter School brings together unionized workers from across Alberta for a week of learning, connection, and renewal. This retreat-style program empowers participants with the knowledge and skills to strengthen their workplaces and communities.
